"you will suffer long and hard"... I'm driving to one of my usual photo spots while wondering how many times I've head this since signing in for the transportugal.

Probably as many times as I heard "take it easy and rest"... Every person that did it before has a special advice for enduring such an ammount of effort ranging from traininng practices, to gear, hydration, food, rest, you name it...

I know that the best preparation will probably get me to the end with the least amount of suffering, I also know that sooner or later I'll get to a point when by body will tell me that it's time to stop...

From this moment on I'll have to rely on my will to reach the end... This is why I feel I have to concentrate on images in order to detract my mind from effort and distance figures... I'm not sure this will work, but who knows... This may get to be my special advice for the generations to come...

Murakami, the japanese author, runs.
He runs marathons!
In a way similar to the effort of such event like yours here.

Last year he released a book "What I think while I am running" - you should read it.
